11 principles of leadership
The 11 Leadership Principles define the parameters of a leadership code of conduct. They become the basis for the transmission and approval of decisions.
These 11 principles of leadership have been developed over the years, so they are time-tested:
1. Be professional in everything you do. Followers expect leaders to be experts at a given job. You can be successful for your looks, wit and charm, but sooner or later you will have to show concrete results.
2. Stick to your values. Don't contradict your beliefs. If you say you value sincerity, then you must act honestly.
3. Know your people and look after their well-being. Don't commit yourself to their privacy. But if an employee has a personal problem that affects productivity, then you must take action.
4. Provide information to workers. Lack of information and poor communication leads to disruption of the dynamics of the organization. Every team member needs to know everything about the project.
5. Set an example for workers. If you believe that employees should come to work tidy, you should set an example for them.
6. Make sure the assignment was understood, monitored and completed. Ask questions as the work is assigned. This is the only way you will understand that every employee is aware of the problem.
7. Train as a whole team. Do not practice individually, do team tasks, so you can develop your team.
8. Make clear, timely decisions. A serious mistake leaders make is that they cannot make a concrete decision.
9. Develop a sense of responsibility among your subordinates. The leader must make sure that employees are mindful of their responsibilities.
10. Use workers according to their ability. Don't overload your team, know the limits.
11. Take responsibility and responsibility for your actions.
